Projects:
#MeToo Is Changing How Sex Is Simulated on Set — I pitched, reported, and developed this short documentary on burgeoning profession. In the course of pre-production I negotiated filming access in multiple states. I filmed and produced five field shoots, managing additional camera operators and interviewing subjects. I compiled archival footage and oversaw the animation of motion graphics. I scripted, edited, and fact checked the short documentary through publication.
The Amateur Sleuth Who Hunts Down the Missing — I pitched, reported, and developed this short documentary profile on a woman who’s given up everything to search for missing American Indians. I conducted numerous pre-interviews with local experts. I worked with a freelance camera operator, coordinating shoot schedules, travel, and overseeing production. I filmed and produced four day-long field shoots, following the main subject as she travelled across North Dakota and Minnesota searching for a missing woman, often filming handheld run-and-gun style scenes. I scripted, edited, and fact checked the short documentary through publication. I also wrote an accompanying article, On the Trail of Missing American Indian Women.
Fear and Anxiety at Refugee Road — I worked with a co-producer to adapt a Franklin Foer magazine piece on a small community in Ohio affected by changes in ICE policies. I joined the project at the last minute and flew to Ohio on a few days notice to interview and cast our main subjects before the arrival of my co-producer. Over the course of a weekend I filmed and produced multiple field shoots and interviews. I then worked as assistant editor on the short documentary, working around the clock to publish the piece two weeks after production wrapped.
How the Trade War with China Will Affect the U.S. — For The Atlantic’s 2019 Quoted season, I produced and scheduled nearly 30 studio shoots with Aspen Ideas Festival participants, including James Comey and Amy Chua. After our field producers returned from the festival, I edited a number of videos, including this short explainer on the U.S.-China trade war, which I pitched for its evergreen appeal.

I worked collaboratively to script, edit, and fact check the piece through publication.
